Will anything going from the EU to NI need anything like this?
Wasn’t the point of the Windsor framework supposed to be the exact opposite? What perfidy is this?
Watch a lot of small business pull out of sending to NI now.
So we got fucked by Brexit which the majority of the population of NI did not want….but because of the UK we got dragged into this shit show….and the DUP are doing fuck all to get this shit show sorted out….please I beg of you if you see an MLA bend their ear over us being excluded…or alternatively write to Sammy (show us your Willy) Wilson.
oh we are fucked.
I can’t even order batteries on Amazon anymore I order them from Temu now… how the fuck is it easier to send a power bank from china to Northern Ireland rather than the UK? lol
I know they all come from china in one way or another but fuck me
Biggest pile of nonsense. Anyone who thinks this is about “protecting the Single Market” and not about petty point scoring is deluded.
Blame the DUP. They’re solely responsible.
Anyone who doesn’t think this is directly the fault of the DUP doesn’t have a clue
‘If you are a business in Great Britain sending a parcel by direct transport to a private individual residing in Northern Ireland for personal use, or a private individual in Great Britain sending goods to a business in Northern Ireland (for example, a customer returning an item), you do not need to complete a customs declaration to move your goods. Data already routinely available to carriers, with some additions, will form the basis of these requirements. The sending business will not face any registration requirements.’
So many small and medium sized businesses will just opt out of supplying customers here, or stick in additional costs to put them off. Extremely frustrating.
DUP mega own goal.
Oh for fuck sake not this again. It’s a tiny bit of paperwork from a seller to a buyer. It’s not even paperwork. It’s basically a label. A tiny bit of admin.
This scaremongering shite has been going on for over a year now. Bottom line – GB to NI shipments will continue. Low margin sellers will likely pull out of shipping here because they can’t be arsed with the hassle. Everyone else it’ll be business as usual.
Great to be in the Uk, isn’t it? Great to have your views listened to re: Brexit. Great to have interest and investment from the UK.
Ok, apart from the inconvenience maybe, how can I go into Argos and get battery related goods etc ? Can even get them delivered albeit a couple of days slower…genuine question.
Edit : meant in comparison to Amazon for example.
It’s frustrating as fuck trying to get anything from the mainland delivered here. It’s like we’re treated as the ugly cousin. DUP dropped the ball in a big way and they will feel it for many years to come. They lost my vote from there on out. That being said, alot of the blame also lies with the spineless British Government, for complete lack of leadership from the Brexit result.
