Ok, I am pretty sure there is no egg shortage, and Switzerland imports a lot of eggs as well. But, I still found it strange to find the shelves nearly empty in my nearby coop!
Maybe just a logistics issue?
Have you noticed anything similar in your local stores?

saw the same today. empty.
My coop in Geneva this morning was fully stocked up
I work in another store in the same sector and here too the shelves are practically empty (not only of eggs but also of other products). The reason we are not restocking the shelves today is because tomorrow February 15th is stock up day and all items in the store will be counted one by one. Therefore, the merchandise that arrived was not placed on the shelves, thus minimizing the extensive counting.
I noticed last week that there only french eggs in my migros, not the usual ones.
My coop & migros are stacked with eggs. So I guess just a logistics/location issue
I have been buying them all up and taking them to the US to sell at a profit. Sorry guys.
Flu
More like panic buying after news from US
in ”my” coop the shelves with eggs were full
Been happening now and then in recent weeks. Annoying.
Short answer: no
Long answer: also no
In my Migros they’re out of Swiss hard boiled eggs since beginning of the year. Since mid-January imported hard boiled eggs are available, though
Chicken strike? 🪧
Always like that on Friday and Saturday evening
Nope… checked three different stores today, everywhere they had eggs 😂
Sorry. I had a craving for scrambled eggs.
I buy b tier (misshapen) eggs directly from a farmer and they for some reason redid something and were out for like a month maybe its related
Maybe its inventory day?
Sorry I’ve been practicing making poached eggs. 😔
Annoying that the U.S. has such an influence here. Coop where I live is stocked up with eggs..
You checked your local coop. Just that one. Saw the shelves empty and think there’s a shortage?
If you’d check all the stores from various brands in the surrounding area and saw the same thing, then it might make sense. This looks just like a logistical hurdle. My two local shops (Migros and Aldi) have eggs.
This happens at my local Coop quite a bit. Especially on Saturday and Monday.
