JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – Rock County Board Chair Kevin Leavy is looking for residents interested in serving on the county’s Board of Health.
Public members of the Board of Health must show a demonstrated interest or competence in the field of public or community health, including health care professionals, per state law.
The Board of Health provides policy supervision to the Rock County Health Department and is responsible for ensuring the enforcement of public health rules, gauging public health needs, developing policy and providing leadership.
Officials encourage Rock County residents to submit their interest to serve as a community representative on their website by March 14.
The Board of Health is made up of nine members, including five public members whose terms are expiring.
Newly appointed public members serve two-year terms starting April 1.
