CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WTAP) – W.Va. Gov. Patrick Morrisey held his first State of the State Address as Governor Feb. 12.
During the address Gov. Morrisey reported on several matters concerning the state of W.Va. including the topic of his plan to get better broadband access in the state.
Morrisey says the [state government] want[s] to look at a different array of options of doing this, such as satellite or fiber.
His priority behind this plan is to make sure more West Virginians get connected, while boosting economic growth within the state
Gov. Morrisey says this will happen as they discuss with the Trump administration about how to strategically use the federal broadband dollars, stating:
”I want to work with the Trump administration to get more flexibility to get the right results for our people…. I think that there is an opportunity to work with President Trump on so many different issues across the board and he will work with us, he loves West Virginia, he knows we have his back; a lot of synergies in what we’re trying to do in West Virginia and what he is trying to do nationally.”
Gov. Morrisey says he sees a great partnership ahead between the state of W.Va. and President Donald Trump.
