  1. Can imagine this is going to be used as pretext to cut aid.

  2. Really?!?

Zelensky doesn’t want to sign an agreement with Donald “I have altered the deal, pray I do not alter it further” Trump? Who would have guessed?

  3. Any deal signed with Trump has more value as toilet paper than whatever is written on it.

  4. The US could have ended this war ages ago, if they did it then they could ask for a massive payday. But this is just another real estate deal, where contractors won’t get all they’re owed

  5. Good extorting half of all ukraines future mineral reserves is absurd

  6. At least they are asked in this modern Ribbentrop-Molotov deal.

  7. If anything the Trump administration has done before is like this it’ll be the worst worded most vague shit you ever read. Would be practically impossible to sign even if he wanted to.

  8. First Ukrainians get murdered by Russia then America decides to rape the survivors.

  9. Zelensky has the mightiest balls I’ve ever seen on a man. The Ukrainians definitely elected a fine leader for the world history books.

  10. Signing deals with dt has been shown to be deleterious to your country. As a Canadian, I applaud the alertness President Zelenskyy is showing in the manner. The US is not a reliable partner in most aspects, and seeks only to enrich itself at the expense of others. Not unlike the other bully on his Northern border.

  11. No sane person would sign any ‘deals’ with Trump who proved that, like Putin, he doesn’t care about agreements if he can pull a mob boss crap.

  12. So Trump wants to divide Ukraine between the USA and Russia?

  13. Wasn’t the initial agreement $500b that alone is pretty scandalous given that America has given by some estimates $180b of weapons reaching their use by date that would have required to be disposed of at americas cost.

What a joke the US has become

  14. I feel like a proper deal would be “heavily discounted mineral reserves until paid back, then first dibs on purchasing excess minerals at fair market value, immediate overwhelming support which would end war immediately, nato membership.” This would allow america to recoup the money given to them and create a long term partnership.

  15. By politely declining, they mean he gave them the finger and told them to shove it up their ass!

  16. The only countries worth trusting are the ones that don’t ask anything in return

  17. The anti americanism will be higher than anything else, it might even fix racism.

  18. Openly using Mafia tactics then?

USA: We’ll ‘protect’ you (but we’re going to extort the shit out of you, and at the same time do deals with your enemy).

Soft annexation and then give it all to Russia in exchange for something else…

  19. He should tell Trump the best stuff is the part Russia is trying to take and see if that improves his results.

  20. Good, fuck Trump, Putin, and Musk. The US is on a way journey to becoming Russia lite, built in the image of Trump’s hero Putin.

  21. Kinda sounds like a deal between Trump and Putin is in the works to share Ukraines resources. Trump just checking in if he can get them without Putins help.

(I know nothing about politics, just a dumb guess)

  22. Good because he’s better signing an agreement with Putin than dealing with Trump.

    Well same shit really

  23. Wait, the “deal” is:
The Russians won and keep everything they have right now, and the US gets half of the rest?

Can’t figure out why the Ukrainians don’t like that.

  24. Think of it as a person defending his home from being robbed by his neighbour.

A helpful, further neighbour who has been helping the person now demands “protection money” for continued help.

USA is behaving like a gangster.

  25. “The U.S. Congressional delegation presented Zelensky with a piece of paper they wanted him to sign which would grant the U.S. rights to 50% of Ukraine’s future mineral reserves. ”

    ^this is not a joke

  26. At this point, it looks like history repeating itself… except it’s not Poland!

  27. Didn’t the US sign the Budapest memorandum which gave security guarantees to Ukraine? Maybe the US should uphold that.

  28. Goddamit! The US is becoming a cringe comedy everyday.

This is basically the storyline where Micheal Scott negotiates a win-win-win situation

  29. Give mining rights for half of the reserves in areas currently held by Russia.

  30. Trump should have the minerals that are found by Ukraine at the isle of crimea.

  31. If you ever see a Darth Vader clause in a contract, it’s not worth anything.

“ we reserved the right to change the terms of this agreement at any time or to terminate it.” Means they can do whatever the hell they want and you you’re just stuck with it.
