News flash! Congress people serve their donors! Republican donors, shocking I know, are in the fossil-carbon business. BEVs don’t need fossil carbon.
Well, they need to balance out Trump’s massive tax on “Canadian” cars, a tax that increases the price Americans pay on most conventional cars.
The automotive supply chain for cars made in America actually crosses the US-Canada and US-Mexico a total of six times on average during manufacturing.
Trump’s new taxes effectively make conventional cars more expensive relative to EVs, which have a more vertically integrated supply chain.
That’s why the Musk/ Trump administration is currently specifically targeting cars with new taxes.
Tesla’s will be exempt.
Our EVs come from Tennessee and run on domestic electrons. That seems quite un-American.
Sooner rather than later GOP and Trump will try to make EVs illegal.
