I’m from Poland and people on reddit now crying about America having all this power to sit with Putin and discuss Ukraine is so weird. Putin should’ve been made to kneel by Europeans but he wasn’t. Every country managed to think Ukraine is not their priority.

  11. He’s totally right. And instead offering the US europes rare earths we need to use them for us with fair traiding requirements. Also see Greenland as an important strategic factor for safety and resources.

    Ukrain is doing the dirty work right now and Europe needs to unite and step in. All in or we might lose everything. We are years to late but better late then never!

    If not we get crushed between USA and China with Russia being Chinas chuck.

  17. Please take note: This person, whilst not perfect… is *a leader*. He displays decisive, coherent thinking and is able to communicate it well. He speaks for the moral as well as the realpolitik. Zelensky is *a statesman*.

    The democratic world has a shortage of such people. There are some – but largely we have to deal with a bunch of vacuous, mealy-mouthed, self-interested imposters who take their salaries whilst ensuring nobody questions why they’re failing at their jobs…

  21. Lets be honest. The usa artificially kept Europe on a leash and made it dependent in exchange for military security. In exchange Europe supplied military bases on its ground and offered lucrative deals.

    In an ironic twist the orange goon could have initiated the fall of the american empire.

    An absurd idea to piss off its best ally and cutting ties while china is patiently waiting.

  23. I really admire pres. Zelinsky for speaking out and I agree with him: the countries in europe must establish an alliance similar to NATO to deal with problems like rogue nations when they decide to invade other states.

    We cannot allow the United States decide which states are worthy of being a member of an alliance especially not when the safety of europe is at risk and that is why we need an alliance made up of countries in europe.

    I predict that we will witness a radical change in europe when this meeting has ended.

    imagine going from comedian to president of a (middle-power) country to possibly/argueably one of the most important figures of defending western principles against an imperialistic, borderline dictatorship with possessions of weapons of mass destruction. And you´re not even in NATO.

  28. Trump only has 4 years. At the current pace, he is going to make the rural conservative voters a lot poorer over the next 4 years. His erratic economic policies and government cost cutting measures are going to increase inflation and crush his voters even more. Inflation killed Biden during his term according to post election polls. He is on the same path inflation wise.

    I’d say most of America values our allies. America does need to pivot to the Pacific to address China for the benefit of the west and the smaller pacific nations. I think Europe is on the right track to handle Russia and we should support our European allies as much as possible. I hate seeing Trump undermine Europe and Ukraine by trying to cutting them out of the conversation. I love seeing Zelensky take that power back through a speech like this. Let this continue to galvanize Europe.
