I wonder will the reaction to this be the massive Garda presence we desperately need in the city, being that it happened on the important side of the river.
Terribly sad. I hope the victim in care recovers quickly and that they catch the offender.
Dublin is going in a really scary direction, becoming lost for words at this point.
What in the fuck is going on in Dublin. Poor fuckers, I’d rather be shot than stabbed any day of the week, absolute scum bag behaviour carrying around knives just to stab people.
I can guarantee you this is one of many of these serious assault incidents that happen every month in Dublin, it’s only making the news because the fella has died.
What a disgrace that crime like this is occurring and their best lead is that they need to get an account of the other seriously injured man in order to establish who did it.
Our government has fucked the people of Ireland and the Garda to allow this, Dublin hasn’t been safe for a long while
Like it just keeps getting worse and worse and you rarely see a guard. I’ve never been in a European capital with such a low level of policing.
Wonder could it be drug related. I know dealers like to hang around that exact spot.
How on earth can this happen on a Friday night in the city centre. This is pretty much bang in the middle of where a lot of the main spots are. Zero Garda presence
It’s almost like our taxes pay for fuck all that benefits the tax payer these days.
Zero Garda presence.
This is becoming a daily occurrence now. At least they were able to call it a stabbing this time and not ‘slashing type injuries’
Time for the minister of justice to walk around with 30 bodyguards and say “Dublin is a safe city.”
Can we have an independent report on Garda working so we know what is going on.
We know they are hired and exist but why are they not around. Are they actively choosing not to be out on the streets?
Maybe there is sn issue there. What can be done to get more on the streets. Is there something they need?
If only we hade Guards on the street of our capital city, but that’s far too much to ask.
We need top quality cctv everywhere in town
Another day another stabbing. What the hell is going on, it happens almost daily now.
Damn, Dublin is really trying for that “stab city” title
Guaranteed the perpetrator had 10 plus previous convictions.
I witnessed the end of this fight last night on Dawson St. It was a disgrace, there was a feral gang of youths kicking some guys head in. The bouncers on the bars next to it actually walked away. Not a single guard around for the whole time. Dublin is not safe. It’s turned into a kip
About the time I saw a garda squad car pulling over a car in the 24 hour bus lane in Finglas Rd with no buses in sight
The increased Garda presence in the city centre after the attacks on American tourists was just a temporary PR exercise. What does it take for political parties to start doing the things in society that need doing?
Dublin has gone to to the dogs. Used to be a great city with a great buzz around the place. Now there are junkies on every other corner. Groups of youths looking for fights on the other corners. It’s rough.
What a shame because not so long ago it used to be a great city.
30 years old, jesus. Mad to think you go out to have a few jars and then end up dead
No point in being on here complaining about it people get to the streets it’s the only way anything will be done.
Bring the country to a standstill
I’m out and about in the city, day and night.
You see some shit happening for sure, but people need to stop getting sucked into their phones and thinking that city is a full blown warzone and it’s not safe to walk down the street 😂
Dublin’s still a great city to visit and enioy yourself in. You’d have to be very unlucky to witness something like this.
That being said, i agree the government should be ashamed in themselves in not doing more to tackle crime. How they’ve handled incidents like these has only increased the scaremongering
