  1. I’m happy RFK Sr. Isn’t here to see what a complete disgrace his son turned out to be.

  2. >The Trump administration laid off half of its Epidemic Intelligence Service, otherwise known as the “Disease Detectives.”

Damn RFK’s brainworm for quitting halfway through. At this point, all we can do is pray that H5N1 doesn’t go to human-to-human—but if it *does* go human-to-human, let’s hope it finds RFK and finishes what the brainworm started.

  3. **TL;DR:**

    • CDC officials say the cuts would have a devastating effect on the country’s ability to assess blooming diseases. Many of the fired staffers were early career professionals who had been trained by the agency.

    • Many staffers that go through the program serve on the frontlines of public health responses before later rising through the ranks of the CDC.“The country is less safe,” Dr. Anne Schuchat, an alumna of the disease research program, told CBS News.

    • “These are the deployable assets critical for investigating new threats, from anthrax to Zika.” The cuts are expected to take effect in the coming months. The program is run by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a subagency of the HHS Department of Health and Human Services.

    • It is not clear how many people will be affected by the cuts, or if any will be able to continue working for the program after they are cut. The CDC has not yet made a decision on whether or not to cut the program.

*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.*

  4. Be a shame if there was a pandemic about to hit the US

    Oh, wait

  5. I thought that if RFK jr came to power, there would be no more diseases.

  6. It’s so crazy! Who would’ve thought that placing a heroin addict in charge of the country’s health would backfire?

Gee 🤔 who could’ve guessed that one?

It’s okay… For everything, there’s horse deworming agent right?

  7. So RFK Jr. has a great deal to be worried about.
    >“If you’ve been involved in good science, you’ve got nothing to worry about,” Kennedy said. “If you care about public health, you’ve got nothing to worry about.”

  8. This is the movie Contagion, except Kate Winslet was just fired by Jude Law.

  9. This drug addict would have a hard time getting a job at a hospital with his history of abuse. So let him run the nation’s health policy.

  10. The fucks over at the segregated sub are cheering that the cdc is shutting down. They believe people are being poisoned by cdc.

  11. Diseases we had under control, let’s how many oncoming travelers from other countries come in with diseases we don’t have kids vaccinated for, the death rate of children could go up. Take a good look of the variety of incoming form all over at the airports, these cruises, visitors at you Airbnb’s, lost of potential carriers of unvaccinated folk visiting. Let’s see how that works out for an unvaccinated America. Trump the heroine addict don’t know squat about preventive medical practices and don’t have the sense to hire the experts who do.

  12. We are not as flashy as the USA, but Canada is a great place to live for intellectuals. And we are recruiting STEM.

  13. A reminder that cuts to similar groups during the last Trump administration meant that Covid went unrecognized until it was too late. The difference? These cuts are MORE extreme. And paired with the funding crisis that the NIH, CDC, etc are in right now this is going to be worse at the state AND federal level

  14. They will definitely try to hire these people back in a panic if things get out of hand. The motto seems to be fire first and think later(if ever).

  15. The MAGA cult said that you should not trust the Democrats. Yet here we are.

  16. I wish you all good fortune in the wars and diseases to come.

  17. For all his haranguing into making America healthy, wouldn’t it have been admirable if he introduced say a three-step plan to reduce adolescent obesity and mandate fresh & healthy school meals?

My first question to him would be: If America were to experience another world wide deadly epidemic (not the common flu) and there was a known and proven vaccine for it, would he implement it immediately?

  18. This administration is looking an awful lot like The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse… Guess Robbie would be Pestilence. Not that I believe in all that, but…

War…Trump has said all kinds of warlike shit.

Famine… With USAID being shut down a lot of people are going to starve.

Pestilence… An antivaxxer is in charge of US healthcare.

Death… How many will die because of all this?

  19. More proof that Trump is a violent sociopath hellbent on killing as many Americans as possible.

  20. It’s pretty much not worth it to read this stuff and try to triage “how bad will it be?”, “how idiotic and destructive will these sociopaths get?”, we all know they will exceed any level of sadism a well adjusted human can imagine. It is about survival now; do not lose hope, do not give up- but do everything you can to remain safe and resist.

  21. Careful here. Don’t wanna get sent to the “Heath Farms”.

  22. Don’t expect good things from someone who betrayed his country and family and joined the Nazis for self-promotion.

  23. We are such a dumb country we destroy ourselves. Forgot Russia, china or whoever we are our own worst enemy. The other countries will just pick up the scraps after we are torn apart.

  24. If there is an election in 2028, it will take decades to recover from this horrible administration, just like how we are still suffering from Reagan

  25. It would be a shame if he got anthrax from one of his bear hunts.

  26. Typhoid, Covid, Measles, Hepatitis, Remember Ebola?, foodbourne disease outbreaks, more.
These are the public health educators and scientists that keep us safe.
    CDC source:
“We just had word that all our fellows and post doc staff are laid off effective immediately. The famous Epidemic Intelligence Service, aka the Disease Detectives, is no more. That’s 1260 staff.
They are calling this ‘Phase 1’

  27. As a young man he stood near a pit of rotting cow carcasses to gorge his hawks on the rats that would collect there. I’m certain something about that experience guides his decision-making in regard to human beings.

  28. This guy is every boomer that fell down the internet wellness hole, but genetically modified as a Kennedy to achieve a level of political celebrity that can do real lasting damage.

  29. Over half of American voters said Yes to this b.s. and a lot of them knew better, too. Let that sink in.
