But the things Hamas did on 7th Oct 2023, like capturing and raping women, killing children in their homes and so on… or later capturing aid sent in to Palestine to sell it on to buy more weapons, leaving their own people to starve… These things can’t be condoned under ANY circumstances.

Let’s not pretend that any leader actually cares about the cause of the Palestinian people. The Oct 7th attack was partly in response to the Abraham Accords where Israel signed peace treaties with every other Arab nation except for Palestine. They try dimplomacy, passive resistance, international pressure, BDS, etc. and every one has failed so far. Violence is the only option they have left. If they actually cared about Hamas, Israel would’ve wiped them out from the start. Instead, they allowed them to exist to both keep Palestinians from uniting by pitting Hamas and Fatah against each other and to prop up as a bogeyman to block criticisms of their treatment of Palestinians. And whether we like it or not, Hamas is the only governing authority in Gaza. If you’re doing business in Gaza, you have to go through Hamas
