  9. I was living in Austin at the time and lost power for 5 days! it was under 30 degrees for most of it too.

  10. I’m sure they’re more prepared. I think I’d be more comfortable if I was a Texan when they connect the grid to one of the national grids. Which I think they’re planning to do.

  12. After charging everyone a tax we were told would be, getting money from Biden’s federal government, and LITERALLY CONNECTING TO THE NATIONAL GRID LIKE EVERY OTHER STATE? I’ll believe it when Tx isn’t sending brownout warnings

  17. As a person that works in the eastern grid, Texas’ grid is the laughing stock of the US. Terrible management, overreliance on above ground power and the grid itself is a scattered mess of wiring.

  18. they’re adding massively in the solar and battery front and it is making a big difference. 

    cheapest and most easily deployed energy tech right now.

  30. I’m also worried about their plumbing. No one in Texas knows how to winterize their home and very few learned their lesson the last time, even if their pipes burst, they just patched it up and went back to living life like normal.
