How? Seriously. They have no armor, their artillery numbers have dropped significantly, and north Korea ain’t doing sh@t

We know! Russia can’t stop now that it’s switched to a wartime economy and they’re building back up at an accelerated rate with newer equipment and fresh parts from China. Once the US pulls out of NATO(thanks to Donny the Traitor) then article 5 won’t matter and that opens the door for nuclear strikes on EU capital cities which Russia has been preparing for over 15 years now.
In 3 years of combating (just) Ukraine, Russia has all but proven to be a paper Tiger: NATO has barely lifted a finger in this fight, supplying mostly old hand-me-downs that were designated for destruction anyways.
Give Russia props for one thing: We genuinely feared them for over half a century.
OMG!! We should force ALL Americans to pay for everything! Tax them! Drain their bank Accounts. Sell their stock accounts!
Give ALL this to the EU! This is the only fair thing to do. The US MUST be forced to defend Europe, always! No matter what! Otherwise Europe will be killed!?!!
Or, how about no. Let Europe finally pay for its own security like they promised 30+ years ago.
They already are. Russia and China have been at hybrid war on top of other bad guy crap against all comers they can reach for years. The republics fight back by crippling their economies forever but eventually we will see hot major power war again.
This is opinion and conjecture from a man desperate to keep the money flowing. This war has made a lot of people very very rich.
Of course they will wage war, Putin knows no other way. It’s not going to end the way he thinks it will.
That’s the US plan yes. Why so surprised?
I mean… isn’t that the purpose of NATO? Fear mongering isn’t effective when a 30+ nation defensive alliance against Russian aggression already exists and has done since the 50s.
Europe is in a tough spot right now, as the U.S. seems to view Putin’s Russia as a more reliable partner than the EU, Canada, or even Mexico (which isn’t even in NATO, so what’s with all the “Gulf of America” nonsense?).
NATO seems to be on its way out sooner rather than later, so screw it – invite Ukraine into what’s left of NATO. It would only make the alliance stronger, given that Ukraine has the largest army in Europe, battle-hardened soldiers, and extensive experience fighting the Russians.
What’s the alternative? Waiting for the U.S. to sell out the EU for Russia’s sake is not an option.
Something curious about this whole war is that the apparently endless stocks of old Soviet military vehicles must be severely depleted.
Like a significant percentage of the world’s tanks, APCs, IFVs, are just gone now, the idea of the Soviet armored masses basically gone.
And most of all, in a way that’s come kind of short of an all out war. It goes to show how deadly modern war is and how limited the stocks of weapons are when even the seemingly endless Soviet reserves are drained after 3 years of not even all out war.
Don’t worry, the U.S will be right there to tell us to let Russia take what it wants in what it views its sphere of influence or else the U.S will sanction us.
I’m pretty sure, that rebuilding your entire economy into a war economy means that you’re gonna continue waging war.
Just because Trump gives away most of Ukraine to his master doesn’t mean his master is done.
Listen to what Putin is saying. He wants eastern Europe, he wants Finland and Sweden and parts of Denmark.
He wants to make Russia Great again. Just like his lil bitch, Trump.
I get it. Zelenskyy has all my respect. But I don’t think Russia stands a chance against NATO. One thing we have learnt in this war is nuclear deterrence is real.
The only reason Trump wants to close a deal now is because the tide is turning against Russia at the moment, and in a panic he decided to use his American asset
Abso-fucking-lutely they will.
Putin doesn’t (really) give a shit about Ukraine. He’s testing NATO/EU/US’s response. Now, at this point, he’s content to boil the frog long enough until Europe lets its guard down. The Russian army is garbage, but there are other countries waiting to join his fight, and that’ll happen once Russia finally – and yet again – attacks Poland.
“OMG dude…you’re crazy…NATO would totally crush him.” Yeah. You just go ahead and keep assuming there will be a NATO once Trump pulls out…that’s what you’re good at, Butch.
Russia has already publicly said they are at war with NATO.
It’s pretty clear they couldn’t pull it off but if Putin gets desperate enough he might do something crazy.
NATO stopped being effective when the US choose that orange fascist, again. The US will not help when Russia attacks Europe, they might even collide with Russia. Europe needs to wake the fuck up and arm itself, able to finally put Russia down and keep the US away.
Yup he will because he knows Humpty Dumpty will just rollover for him.
Sounds like Trump and Putin want to be kings of the world and then somehow Trump will fall out of a one story building
He should add… with the forced enlistment of Ukrainian soldiers you helped train and arm.
Zelensky days are counting down. He will have to run to another country to avoid prosecution. There is no way Russia will attack NATO.
Thats the point. Trump is sympathetic to Russia.
Yeah and US will back it (though probably not out loud)
I know he is trying to rouse Europe but I doubt he means what he says. Russia doesn’t get anything from attacking NATO.
All the military aid that the US has been giving to Ukraine will suddenly become aid that the US is giving to Russia.
News flash: Putin has been waging war on NATO for decades… and he’s seen significant victories before firing a shot.
I think with Russia people either overestimate or underestimate the threat.
From a purely military/equipment/ man power point of view, there’s no way Russia is ready for war with the rest of Europe, nor does Putin want it, the Chinese also don’t want it and they’d be his biggest backers.
That being said I think it’s wrong to thing of Russia as a bit of a joke, not actually ready to do anything. They’ve proven over the years incredibly deft at worming their way into western democracy and disrupting it from the inside.
America is a key example of this, you can argue the Russian influence on the actual elections but the sheer amount of Maga based bots online should be an indication of what they’re doing
Europe (the UK included) needs to create a European defence force but more than this, they need to pull Russian money out of their nations, they need to upset some billionaires and companies. Any politician who’s taken Russian money for anything needs to go.
No they won’t. It’s been 3 years and they still haven’t taken Ukraine. They’ll get their shit smacked against NATO
France, Germany, and the UK combined would whoop Russia’s ass in less than 1 month!! Don’t even need all of NATO or even half.
They already are. Ww3 is being fought by fucking troll farms.
What is democracy worth if we are not willing to fight for it? The democratic values we cherish in Europe are the result of centuries of struggle, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve—both on the battlefield and in the hearts and minds of our people. These values are not a given. History shows that every society that neglects its foundations ultimately faces decline.
Today, we witness the erosion of the rule of law in Europe, fueled by populism and authoritarianism, while we fail to safeguard our values from internal and external threats.
Empires come and go, and so do the great political entities of today. Europe now stands in the shadow of two great powers: Russia, seeking to expand its influence through violence, and the United States. Once a steadfast ally in defending democratic principles, the U.S. now grapples with its own democratic crisis.
If Europe is unwilling to defend its democratic values, we are inevitably heading toward the brink. The risk is clear: if we do not resist the rise of totalitarianism, both within and outside Europe, we must ask ourselves—what is our freedom really worth?
The fear of conflict is human and understandable. No one desires war or loss of life. But if we refuse to defend the European Union out of fear of casualties, we must also accept the inevitable consequences: a foreign power could eventually force its way across our borders. The choice will no longer be ours. Those who argue against investing in our defense should understand that this path leads not just to the end of our prosperity, but to the complete loss of our sovereignty and everything we have built. The price of preventing conflict through strength may seem high, but the cost of submission will be immeasurably greater.
Freedom is not a given. Democracy is not an automatic privilege, but a constant struggle that requires protection and commitment. If we fail to defend it, if we continue to look away out of fear, we should not be surprised when we lose everything. Let’s not fool ourselves: if we refuse to defend the EU because it is too risky, we must also accept the inevitable downfall of our prosperity, democracy, and influence.
I hope our leaders understand this when they meet for tomorrow’s emergency debate. We must have these difficult conversations now, before it is too late.
Itd be devastating to European economies but I genuinely don’t think Russia can win a war against the combined powers of Europe and if the states don’t support them in a real war, they better be like coming troops out of the continent. No more american hegemy
If it takes 3 years for Russia to gain 20% of Ukraine, what make them think they can take on NATO?
Already are
If he does the Putin loses.
He almost destroyed his country fighting one country off.
No way in hell does he stand a chance with depleted resources, low ammunition, low vehicles and low troops.
If Putin fights Nato it will be a short fight.
With what army? Russias already depleted its military so badly it had to go to North Korea for help
They’ve already started a war of sabotage. They’re breaking undersea cables and have tried bombing planes.
I don’t think Russia takes any warning Zelensky says seriously. Does anyone?
