  2. Not a hope in hell. Champerlain was not a criminal, not a rapist, not a con-artist, and not a Russian asset. Yes, he mistakenly took Hitler at his word, but he didn’t do it to enrich himself or protect himself. Everything that Drumpf does is for his own interests regardless of how many people get hurt by his actions.

Tbh he has more in common with hitler or Mussolini in terms of oration skills and corrupt vindictive mindset.

    – Voted into office even as a convicted felon
    – Fascist takeover of government
    – Demonizing minority groups
    – Alliances with other totalitarian states (Ribbentrop / Molotov treat)
    – Invasion of neighboring countries

  6. Chamberlain is a bit miss understood due to the effectiveness of the labour opposition propaganda. Michael Foot’s “the Guilty” men led the way for Churchill to come to power in 1940. The response from the conservatives in the late war was “the left is never right,” much of the military failures were due to previous labour government policy. AJP Taylor’s account of the early war is more balanced take. Hitler cut Germany’s military budget in the 1930s. From a planning point of view Hitler was even less prepared than the British.

    Where as Putin increased Russia’s budget in the 2010s. Putin’s budget is much higher than Hitler’s. The scale of preparedness is not comparable. Hitler signed a peace treaty with Stalin for valid strategic reasons.

    Chamberlain’s government went fully into rearmament after the betrayal of Munich, pre-emptivelly won the Battle of Britain by investing in RADAR and fighter aircraft, and literally declared war on the nazis as per its security guarantees to Poland

    Chamberlain did far more in the 30s than any NATO country in these 20s

  16. Trump is worse than Chamberlain. Chamberlain was trying to buy time, because he knew his military was unable to stand up to Hitler at that point. His “peace in our time” declaration allowed Britain and allies a chance to start building up their military. Trump’s military is vastly stronger than Russia’s degraded forces, after Ukraine has destroyed much of it. Trump is trying to buy time for Putin to rebuild and destroy Ukraine and the Western Alliance.
