It looks like OP posted an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of [concerns over privacy and the Open Web](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmputatorBot/comments/ehrq3z/why_did_i_build_amputatorbot). Fully cached AMP pages (like the one OP posted), are [especially problematic](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmputatorBot/comments/ehrq3z/why_did_i_build_amputatorbot).
Maybe check out **the canonical page** instead: **[https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yvn4dy8qyo](https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yvn4dy8qyo)**

“*Dr Ali Shokouh-Amiri*, who admitted to the unauthorised removal of ovaries while working at a hospital in Guernsey, has been permitted to continue his medical career but received a formal warning. He is now working as a consultant gynaecologist at Southend University Hospital, part of the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.”
I’m sharing this with everyone I know! He should not be anywhere near people.
This show has been going downhill for a while
How is the debate over him continuing to practice, when it should be how long his prison sentence is??
I know we’re short of doctors, but I’m sure we should be getting rid of this one
Doctor Who plot lines are getting gritty!
Signed
This title confused me so much.
I thought it was talking about Doctor Who.
I thought that must have been a fucked up episode.
Why the fuck is he not in prison?
I mean, just the clitoris touching has to be sexual assault but the ovary removal? Fucking hell.
>[The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service] said he had an “otherwise unblemished career”
Ah, yes, apart from the 100 allegations of inappropriate behaviour his career is entirely unblemished.
Should be put on the sex offender registry
The UK proves time and time again that it’s a disaster
I don’t remember that episode
Who are these tribunals accountable to?
Hmmm – I wonder which card he played to keep his job?
“He faced more than 100 allegations of inappropriate behaviour with 24 instances proven.”
This sick fuck should be nowhere near any patient!
*Checks name*
Yeah that’s why he got lenient treatment by the law. Next.
What the actual fucking fuck? He needs to be in prison.
Any idea which “Mid and South Essex University Hospital” he’s currently working at (is it Broomfield, Southend or Basildon, or all three)?
I honestly cannot believe they are allowing this – it’s horrifying. Do we really care that little about women’s safety? As if visiting the gynecologist isn’t already nerve-wracking, we now have to do our own research to ensure that our doctor isn’t a known sexual predator who mutilates women.
I’ve signed the petition – thank you for sharing this.
Maybe he wasn’t white enough to deserve a prison sentence.
Offering an alternative perspective. My partner has seen many doctors at Southend over the years for her endometriosis and Dr Shokouh Amiri has been by far the best in terms of his knowledge, understanding, and compassion, and has never acted inappropriately towards her. He performed a laparoscopy on my partner 5 years ago to removed endometriotic lesions which provided her with significantly alleviated pain and improved her quality of life.
I’m not excusing his actions, but based off of her experience, she has said she has nothing but praise for him. With this in mind, I would encourage readers to think critically around the allegations in the article. Could he have touched the girls leg to comfort her in distress? My partner has been hugged by a consultant to show empathy for her situation. Could the ovary have been removed because it was damaged or pre-cancerous? Can he be blamed for bringing on early menopause when the patient likely was aware of the risks of removing their ovaries?
I don’t know the answer to any of these questions but based on someone who’s had Dr Shokouh Amiri as a consultant and has nothing but praise for him, I’d encourage some critical thought before getting the pitchforks out…
what the actual fucking hell is going on
He is a pervert and should be locked up.
So he can stay but doctors protesting climate change are aren’t allowed to practice?
