The weather here’s no even a problem anymore. It’s February and we’ve had like 2 weeks of Winter where it was ‘freeze yer baws aff’ cold. Other than that it’s been mild as fuck.

In Scotland- we will have months of dark grey murk for winter, then slightly brighter grey murk for summer.
Trust me you don’t. Lived on the west coast for Scotland for 50 years and also experienced & worked in -30c temps and more snow than I could’ve imagined in Halifax NS and believe me I’d take the weather there over here any day. Not just the weather, but the ability to cope with the weather. An inch or 2 of snow here and it all turns to shit whereas over there everyone just cracks on with their day. Perpetual rain we can deal with (you have to here!) but a bit of snow.. nah, we’re all fucked when that happens!
Mate, that weather looks awesome. When we get snow it’s all shite and dirty in minutes and turns to sleet and just soaks you through. That snow you’ve got looks like pure joy.
That’s a fire hazard, health and safety would shut you down over here, because we live in a fucking country run by lefty basket cases.

Scotland’s weather gets a bad rep but it’s basically pretty mild all year round. Sure it’s kinda grey and damp but we don’t really get crazy extremes of anything.

I went to Scotland once and would do just about anything legal to move there and never come back.
My parents are from Scotland, and I have dual citizenship. I spent most of my summers there growing up and some Christmas holidays.
In my 20s a friend said she wanted to come with me when I visited one August. So I said ok. She asked what she should pack, and I said jeans, sweaters, pants, jackets, slippers, housecoat, shirts (both long and short sleeves), maybe a nighttime outfit just in case. Perhaps 1 pair of shorts or a skirt. She looked agast and said but it’s August. I replied, but it’s Scotland.
She ignored my advice and brought a bunch of cute summer outfits. She had to buy a whole new wardrobe when she got there.
Moral: nobody goes to Scotland for the weather..Unless maybe they’re menopausal.
I love the Scottish weather but I moved to Sweden for more cold and snow and I miss it now I’m back. I’d happily take some Canadian weather!
Scottish weather is its own thing entirely… It’s not just the cold, it’s the moisture in the air and near continuous winds. It will get you. It gets us all…
Scotland is cold and damp, and it is way worse. It seeps into your bones and kills you from the inside.

An Italian living in Glasgow once said to me, he moved to Scotland because of the weather. Here at least here he can go outside but in Italy it was 45°C and pretty much unliveable’.

Give it 90 years. After the destruction of the gulf stream Scotland will have the same weather as Canada.
