Found these little house looking things around Rauma and was wondering what their purpose is. They don't seem to have a door, and look like this on all of its sides. I have seen one that's even a bit bigger than this.

Just asking out of curiosity, they seem pretty cute 😊

  1. I guess this is their way to cover old water wells. There are similar in Helsinki too.

  2. Kinda like a landmark for old timey public well, that was on the same spot. Some remains are still inside the newer well housings. This one missing the spigot and a crank, though some models would have kept spewing water out. The water would then drop through the grate underneath it.

  3. There is a larger, working one at around Kuninkaankatu 44.

  4. It’s the home of the village seer, a local wise man, an ageless being who knows more than anyone, and sees further than anyone, and speaks in riddles few can understand anymore. The locals call him Väyrynen.
