  1. US politics are influencing Au politics in up coming Aussie elections.

The LNP (conservatives) try to run a few MAGA style policies. Dutton has floated the idea of a DOGE.

Not so many Aussies fall for it like in the US.

  2. Do right wingers like him? I know leftists hate him. But I suspect even right wingers don’t like him, they like Trump but I don’t think they like Elon. He has a very small amount of hardcore fans.

  3. The fact they even think or care is adorable. Truth be told, I have no idea who is the king of Australia.

  4. Not surprised, Aussies hate that whole weird, painfully self-centred American “rugged individualist” culture that Musk has come to embody.

  5. As an Australian, the Australian people think what they are told to think.

There is near universal negative coverage of Musk, the national broadcaster is negative on Musk, the more left wing media is very negative and the more right wing is not very positive.

Only Australia’s version of Fox News, Sky News tries to spin him in a positive light, but the types that watch Sky News are going to be Australia’s version of Maga.

So the fact Australian’s hold a negative view of Musk is not at all surprising.

I would hazard a guess that Australians have a more negative view of Musk than they do of Xi Jinping who engaged in an actual trade war on Australia and a trade embargo on most of Australia’s exports (except coal and iron ore). Australians will replace Musk’s Tesla’s with Chinese branded electric cars, from a nation that literally engaged in a three year trade war and embargo on Australia.

Australians do and think what they are told.

  6. If you “like” any of them, no matter what side of the fence they’re on, you’re already cooked.

Take care of your own business and make sure YOU are ok. They’d all sell you for a penny if they could. No exceptions.
