Sana Chebaro has been appointed head of Amazon Publishing (APub) in the UK and Germany, taking on the role from Eoin Purcell, who is departing following his 11-year tenure.
Chebaro joined Amazon Publishing in the UK in 2013, and has worked on publishing strategies and integrated marketing campaigns for authors including Ian Rankin, Colleen Hoover and Rebecca Yarros, as well as Stuart MacBride, Dean Koontz and Amanda Prowse, among others.
Chebaro said: “I am honoured to take up this role and so looking forward to continuing to work with our incredible authors, and continue APub’s journey with the same passion and purpose that Eoin did.”
Chebaro will take on the leading role for the APub UK and German business, while continuing to oversee marketing.
Devesh Kumar from Amazon Books Europe added: “We’re excited for Sana to be taking the helm. Sana has a proven track record for excellence in international marketing and brand building, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow our publishing and multi-channel creative campaigns in new and dynamic ways. This appointment comes at an exciting moment for APub as we make strategic investments in our publishing business. I am confident that Sana will play a key role in driving our global success.”
Purcell joined Amazon Publishing in 2014 to lead the UK business, and was promoted to lead the Amazon Publishing team throughout Europe in 2020. “It’s been a privilege leading this team and working with a roster of talented and creative authors,” Purcell said. “I’m so proud of everything we have achieved together and am excited to see the future successes I know are ahead with Sana at the helm.”
Kumar added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Eoin for his 11 years of leadership at APub, where he’s guided the business with clarity, always challenging teams to innovate and improve year after year in how we deliver results for authors, books and readers.”
