Altar of the Chair of St. Peter by Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1653) in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome Tags:Europe 8 comments Men men and more men. Oops, i mean gods This basilica left me breathless. This alter looks absolutely stunning; it also seems very antithetical to what the bible preaches. Without zooming the picture I saw just 4 cthulhu around the alter of Dagon. Visited it once and I’m going there again. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. Something I learnt not too long ago is that St. Peter is not the mother of all Catholic churches. It is outranked by San Giovanni in Laterano. As beautiful as St Peters is, St Paul’s was absolutely incredible just an enormous rectangular room. Talk about scale. Protestants did castrated themself from the urge to bulid something so non-functional and beautiful at the same time. Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
