  2. The United States wants to break Russia’s alliances with North Korea, China and Iran, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg said at the Munich Security Conference.

    He said Moscow has formed alliances with Pyongyang, Tehran and Beijing over the past few years. Kellogg added that it is very important for the U.S. to prevent these alliances from expanding.

  6. Well I’m only a layman but trying to break apart the alliance of nations directly challenging your world hegemony by not only emboldening their efforts to destroy your world order but also by abandoning your richer and closer and far more reliable allies doesn’t sound like the way to do it.

  7. Well of course it does, but Russia has already repositioned its economy towards the east, after the Biden administration levied every possible sanction, I really wonder what can the US offer to overturn all this.

  8. The totalitarian regimes find common cause. That the US wants to cozy up to a totalitarian regime while breaking with democratic ones, says more about the current US regime than the russian.

  9. Seems like a big wishlist for 4 years in office.
    And since Americans are likely to have Trump thrown out of office by 2028/29, it seems highly unlikely that Russia would abandon all its current allies for only a few years with the US.

  12. I guess by pressuring the EU to work with China instead of the US, China is “forced” to choose between EU and Russia, and hence a wedge is driven between Russia and China? Is that Trumps super chess move?

  13. He’s giving Ukraine parts to Russia and in exchange he wants Russia to decouple from China? All the while Russia can’t get its market back in Europe.

    How does he imagine this will work? Will the US start to import all the Russian gas and oil then? How is Russia supposed to recover without ties to China?

    What is his actual plan for what happens after the first year of armistice in which Russia feels its been given a gift. The Russians don’t exactly act like the type of people that will begin giving gifts back out of thankfulness.

    -Russia will control Europe ( at first there will be resistence but eventually Italy or Germany will ally with Russia to retain their industrial base, making EU crumble)

    -Taiwan (if they are smart) will reunify with China , South korea will become a chinese ally (not certain about Japan)

    -American troops recalled from Europe will be used to conquer panama, greenland and eventually Canada will accept tonbecome 51st state of will be conquered too (America’s Consolation prizes)
