  1. Ironically I think him being disengaged is better than him being actively involved in the company, at this point.

    The board totally has the ability to fire him and replace him as CEO. If they were smart, that’s what they would do. I don’t think they’re brave enough though.

  2. he needs to. the stock went down like 15 days in a row lol. he’ll need more and more discounts to move product hurting margins even more. imagine if china does something to mess with their sales (huge market for Tesla) or chinese factory to mess with tariffs. it would be game over. I dk how much he is even involved with product at this stage.

  9. Tesla has been a mess for years, with huge cost overruns and schedule slippage in gigafactory construction, his solar division and more. Musk has merely been good at wooing capital and securing subsidies, throwing money at his problems. But Ponzi schemes never last.

  11. I don’t understand how/why anybody is actually still buying Teslas. They keep lowering the prices, and it’s an open secret that the service centers are openly hostile to the notion of actually fixing their unreliable vehicles. Forget about having warranty cover anything, they will straight-up refuse to repair, and will hold your non-working car hostage on top of that.

    * America and Canada aren’t far behind with the number of people getting rid or trying to get rid of their teslas skyrocketing.
    * Chinas on the road to producing cheaper models in mexico; and they’ll naturally corner the Asian market.
    * Plus, he’s one argument away from ticking off Trump and getting that new armored car contract thrown out… assuming congress or the supreme court doesn’t axe it anyway.

  34. I think they probably make some sense for fleet mobiles and maybe the rest of the world still likes them, but I don’t know anyone on either side of the isle that would buy one now.
