Hello, I will be travelling to Oslo in some weeks with my car.
What does this board mean? My understanding is that it means , 48 hours maximum parking. No parking for hours 2300-0800, for camper vans ?

Is this no parking include also light vehicles like a car ?

  1. Cars can park for 48 hours. It’s to stop people sleeping in caravans/RVs wherever you are parking.

  2. Your assumption is correct, it’s to stop campers from staying there overnight

Edit, so you can park a car there for 48 hours straight

  3. It’s as you said no parking for caravans and camper vans between 23 and 08. Regular cars can stay for a maximum of 48 hours. But it’s a zone parking area so you need a permit. Not sure if Oslo allows temporary zone permits or you have to live in the area to get one.

  4. No parking ~~Monday trough Friday~~ 23 to 08 for camper vans and camping trailers. This ban only applies for vehicles specially furnished for camping.

Parking for up to 48 hours for any other vehicles, including regular passenger cars.

  5. Read the sign from top to bottom:

    In this zone (area)
    You are allowed to park
For a maximum of 48 hours straight
    Yet, there is no parking
Between the hours 23 to 08
    All days of the week
    For camper wagons and vans

  6. Many German and Dutch folks, have occupied the area. This will not be tolerated anymore. Our fear of conflict, have been mistaken for kindness. You will remove yourself from the facilities in 48 hours, or experience unpleasent repercussions.

  7. They dont allow RVs or campers there at night.
Everyone else can park for 48 hrs.

  8. This is why you travel in a vehicle that doesn’t look like it’s being used to sleep in.

You’ll be fine if you park there overnight, but cover the windows so no light can escape.
(Not for RVs.. cause they will always look like RVs.)
