2. Rightfully so. Nazi germany was a totalitarian hell hole, not a paragon of free speech. The anchor’s dumb comments come one day before 60 minutes does a whole puff piece on how great Germany is *today* because they criminalize lying and *insulting people online*.

8. Listening to that interview you would never think that we would reach a day where our media claim that speech is bad. Sure, they’ve argued that theirs is the most important even as they choose political sides. Sure they’ve denigrated anyone else who enters the profession without passing through the hallowed halls of Ivy League journalism school. Yes, they’ve all but proclaimed themselves as the righteous arbiters of truth, but to equate free speech with the holocaust really removes responsibility from the people who engaged in it, who supported it and sets the stage for the desire for censorship.
