I thought you had to have all four wheels within the marked area or you could get a parking fine… Maybe the solution is actually enforcing existing laws?
I know one guy, 50ish years old, has to prove his masculinity at all times, but this guy is a hunter. During season I can hear him come home late at night from hunting. This guy drives a RAM 1500 (or something like that), big truck, super redneck.
What I’m trying to say is, he was actually making proper use of the open bed, dear, hogs and other animals that would ruin the enterior of any van or car. So he also has his gear on the bed with a lockable crate for knives etc. Which to me always made total sense and since he is working just a few minutes from our houses he was usually biking (bicycle or motorbike) to commute.
I always thought that is a very valid and sensable reason to drive a car like that and definitely better than all the stay-at-home parents driving SUVs (I do fucking hate SUVs just as much as those trucks probably).
Anyways, last year his son turned 18 and with the combined savings of his “Lehre” and the typical birthday money bank account every middle class swiss kid receives from their parents and grandparents, this kid working as a cook (or chef or whatever the proper term is) got himself the exact same fucking RAM 1500 pickup truck.
And if that wasn’t bad enough he managed to get a custom exaust with tuning to make this thing as loud as the law permits. Now I not only hear his dad come home from hunting (which never really bothered me, he is super nice about it and only unloads what is immediately necessary like his guns, at night and does the rest in the morning) but also this little shit brat from wherever 18-20 year olds go at night.

American here. LOL. The cherry on top would be if it had a diesel engine and a gun rack inside. I apologize on behalf of my country… but the inmates have been running the asylum here for a few decades.
Its way too late for us, but if your government had any sense, they would tax these into oblivion.
Having said that, they are great for running into and over local wildlife

I’m actually surprised that it’s not occupying **two** spaces (a bit over a half of each) and half of the sidewalk. This can not be. The Tiny Dick Party will not forgive violating the rules of the order.
You do realise this is only slightly wider than a G63, which you see EVERYWHERE in Switzerland. Maybe they need to redraw lines and consider only parking on one side of the road for todays modern cars. Most SUV will be over the line too, albeit not to this level.
Why RAM and not tiny camper van? Camper van is very comfy for trips into nature, for example if you are photographer. What is RAM good for?

It’s a TRX, it’s honestly an amazing truck, and crazy that it went into production, has a really beef up suspension (not like your average big American truck) and a Hellcat engine with +700hp.
…. But …
It makes zero sense in Europe, it’s a truck made to ride in Baja, Brazil, Sahara desert, not in our streets, it’s laughable that someone went out of their way to ride it here, pay gas, insurance, road tax, and drive something so cumbersome and not as fast as some regular sport cars. 95% of the SUVs make no sense here, even for snow, a good Quattro station wagon is all you need, you really have to go out of your way to do any off-roading in Western Europe, most places it’s illegal. Buying a Q7 instead of an A6 Quattro is just as stupid.

On the funny side, I saw a woman about 155 CM trying to get into a truck like that. She was hanging on to the steering wheel for dear life just to board the truck. Once seated she could barely see out of the windscreen.
Personal responsibility. Since these are twice as likely to kill people than normal cars, I’m sure the personal responsibility crowd won’t mind serving half a murder sentence whenever they kill someone with one of these (with no fault of their own, other than chosing to use a murder vehicle for fashion/style).
Just wait until an ambulance carrying his/her son/daughter cannot pass due to that kind of behavior….
