It was just a few hours ago he poured ice water on British plans to send peacekeeping troops to Ukraine… Seems like Europe is good at slogans and putting out stern statements. But when it comes to action, not much. Maybe that’s why Zelenskyy still trusts a 40% friendly Trump than 100% friendly Europe.

Scholz is not a wartime consigliere
What is Europe actually doing to help achieve a desirable outcome for Ukraine besides loans and donating the small stockpiles of military equipment they have?
Scholz will be gone soon. Hopefully, Germany and the UK will work more closely then. (Unless the far left or far right get in).
Are the Germans talking about peace plans now? Because I remember few months ago they clearly stated that peace would only be achieved if Ukraine returned to its 2014 borders. Any voice contradicting this was instantly decried as far right extremist.
Who cares about Scholz? He’ll be gone in a week
Given the response to the legitimate concerns Vance and Hegseth laid out, I’d say any US-European alliance is on borrowed time. Clearly we are diverging rapidly and Europe will not willingly allow the US to focus on the Pacific without large scale smear campaigns.
