Yeah I get that they cast a wide net to avoid declarative non-allergen statements but I've never seen anything like this!

  1. Ah yes, oregano, that well known source of crustaceans 

  2. It’s ridiculous arse-covering which is really unhelpful to people who do have serious allergies.

  3. See what that list is really saying is “we process everything in this factory and never clean the equipment”.

  4. If they make multiple products in the same factory then any 1 product can contain trace amount of any of them. Probably disclosing them all for legal reasons 

  5. Is this not just because it’s a dry herb probably not prepared in a clean factory environment.
    Hence could be picking up anything in the vicinity

  8. I lost faith in it when ingredients is one thing, but description says mixture of dried spices and vegetables.

  9. This looks very much like a catch-all “we are now bulletproof from the allergy crowd” message their company owner probably came up with because he’s a clarty guy who doesn’t even wipe his arse properly.

  14. Saw a packet of mixed nuts that said “may contain traces of nuts” once.

    First I though well I should bally well hope so, but then I started to wonder what sort of nuts they meant…

  18. There are 14 common allergens that they legally have to declare and there’s only 9 in this, so not bad really!

  24. I’ve had a bar of chocolate before that had a bigger list than that I think. It even said fish on it.

  28. I use food colouring that may contain 12/14 of the allergens! Might as well round it up to a solid 14/14

    I think they may be reusing as much of a standard label.for a product range as they absolutely possibly can. Oregano is a herb, not a spice, nor a vegetable…
