What russian army?
This was a pretty clear and urgent roadmap of how Europe should think and prepare, beginning today:
NATO with the U.S. is in peril, Europe should start the process of making their own alliance and formidable army. It follows that Europe has to massively scale up their own nuclear umbrella.
It has to be pan-European, not EU-based. I’m sure Canada would like to be part of it as well. And I’m sure certain members of NATO today would not be allowed in before massive reforms.
Europe has to focus on their own defence industry. Scale it up massively and invest more on R&D inhouse.
The U.S. would love to pressure Europe into buying their stuff, but it’s clear that this is not a sustainable solution given how they have become erratic, unreliable and downright hostile in some regards, as partners.
Can it be any more obvious?

Seems like everyone forgets that part of the original ultimatum before the war started was for NATO to withdraw back to its 1991 borders. Like as a precondition for Russia to not invade Ukraine. And we literally have 0 reason to believe that is no longer a Russian objective. Other than the fact that their military performance has been absolutely abysmal. But that hasn’t stopped them in any other regard so.
As an American, I am so so sorry, Europeans. (Ukrainians included obviously) it’s beyond embarrassing to be from this country right now. AOC 2028.

For them to back out of Europe is like shooting themselves in the foot. They will lose vital reconnaissance in the eurasian continent. This will harm them more than do good. Because if they do this all EU countries will demand the USA to move out of their countries. Including all bases and assets.
