A defeatist article in general. Utilizing recycling to give raw materials multiple useable lives prevents creation/demand of new material. This reduces landfill and co2 creation. Stop buying anything if you think that’s possible.
Recently in Houston, a journalist put Apple tags in her recycle bins several times. Every tag went to the landfill the same day it was picked up. In the US, recycling is a myth. it doesn’t really happen in any useful amount.
This is why I burn all my garbage to release it into the carbon cycle again.
That might be true, but it will be a much longer time before it eventually ends up there. Therefore, it will be a much longer time before more landfills are needed.
