    Had anyone here not heard of Ukraine prior to the war? I’d be pretty surprised if people in the UK or continental Europeans hadn’t even heard of it

  5. When I spoke to some (lovely) Ukrainians, one of their biggest surprises was finding that the healthcare system in Wales was harder to access than that of an active war-zone. One lady had taken her child back to Kyiv for treatment.

  7. Nice article. It does bring home how insular some of us are “do you have the internet in Ukraine” when in many ways, they are ahead of us in the digital realm. Amusing but also probably a little irritating.

    The resonance with Yma o Hyd was a nice touch by the author – was a very well thought out and articulated article.
