We spotted this strip of mold today, next to our kitchen window. It was a bit surprising and unfortunate that we didn't notice this until today. Planning to try Mellerud tomorrow. Should we immediately report this to our landlord or can this be managed with the mold remover? (P.S: We do not have a house insurance yet ) Attaching a normal view qna d close up for reference.

  1. Small enough to do it yourself. Get mold remover and you should be fine. Also get a moisture meter and track it. If you see it in the future again, but your room isn’t moist, then it’s from the outside. If it’s moist you need to change your fresh air routine.

  2. There might be water/moisture at the ceiling above it.

If you are renting,  tell your landlord.

  3. most likely the humidity is just to high in your apartment and it is possible to fix by yourself.

Get a meter for humidity (they are like 15 euros ) and then regularly check it, aim for below 60, or even below 50 if you are actively trying to get rid of the mold.

Also highly recommend to stick to some airing out the apartment routine. At my place we open all windows at the same time for ~5 minutes and do that twice a day. If you compare the before and after humidity in your apartment, you really see the effectiveness..
