Does everyone in Spain know it’s a mosque minaret or is that something not taught/mentioned?
We the moors build it
It was initially built as a sister tower to the Kutubiyya Mosque in Marrakech. I visited both, but I liked the Giralda more because you could actually go up inside it. Fun fact: it is the highest wheelchair-accessible medieval-era tower in Europe, because the Moors build it with ramps inside in order to deliver goods by donkey all the way to the top. It is truly one of the must-see wonders of Europe, along with the Seville Cathedral itself, the Mezquita in Córdoba, and the Alhambra in Granada.
