Aspiring entrepreneurs in Craven County have a new opportunity to kickstart their businesses, thanks to the Craven Community College Volt Center. This morning, organizers celebrated the opening of four new business units designed to support local startups.
The units, each measuring 168 square feet, are part of the Small Business Generator Program. In addition to providing a spacious area for business operations, the program offers a mentorship initiative, access to the Small Business Center, and covers utility costs. The cost for each unit is set at four dollars for the first year, totaling over six hundred dollars.
The two-year program aims to reduce startup costs for entrepreneurs and provide them with a solid foundation to pursue their business dreams. Organizers emphasized the importance of finding passionate entrepreneurs with a solid business plan. Applications for the program are now open, and more information can be found on the Craven Community College website.
Organizers expressed hope that these units will foster the growth of successful businesses, drawing parallels to some of the world’s largest companies that began in similar spaces.
