  2. I’ve always said this about male starts considered some heartthrob for women. If they don’t get males to come to the table as well, they will have a very short-lived career. Some women are fickle, they change the stars they love, others stick with them to the end. But for a male to start to be big and have longevity, he has to have male followers as well.

  4. Must be how DiCaprio felt in the 2000s when his core fanbase went from screaming teenage girls to the same “macho” guys/film bros who used to be jealous of him because of the screaming teenage girls.

    Justin Timberlake had a similar fanbase turnaround during the FutureSex/LoveSounds era. Suddenly guys who were afraid to admit that they liked some Nsync songs could “come out of the closet” about their fandom because he was just generally considered “cool” at the time and the music was undeniable

  5. He did good. Managed to Segway from a sparkle vampire to an actor that people take seriously. I enjoy him these days. And honestly those vampire movies were kinda fun.

  6. I remember this. The hate for Twilight among the male population was popular online, especially the 9gag memes. Hate is indeed not real. Also, people cannot be put in a box for what they are. People thought he was just a beautiful face, but it turns out he is a lunatic -level of damn good actor. He can change his voices and accents. Shit. He can also sing.

His size and physique qualify him for action but his vulnerability and good looks make him ideal for sad boy parts as well. Long career ahead of him.

  15. He’s shown that he’s a much better actor if you look outside his Twilight stuff. Back in the day I couldn’t stand him. I’ve since become a fan because he does a great job in his roles. The Batman, Lighthouse, and numerous other films that aren’t Twilight are good.

  16. I’m one of the guys. Once I saw his performance in The King I was sold on him. Tenet only doubled down on that. He’s an actor, not a celebrity who is in films.
