The world has failed Ukraine. Here’s what we have learned from this. NEVER trust Russia or the USA. EVER.
These are vastly different in many ways. In 1938, there was no ongoing war, in 2025 there is already an ongoing war for 3 years.
In 1938, these territories given to Germany included most of the defensive forts and positions and in 2025 this is a freezing of lines (which I don’t agree with).
Crimean and the Donbas haven’t been under Ukrainian control in over a decade.
In 1938, those Austrian areas were not complete rubble like the front line cities such as Bakhmut.
I don’t agree with the possible freezing of lines and territorial concessions, but this comparison has too many clear differences to be valid.
If WW2 has shown us anything, it is that appeasement doesn’t work when facing a determined aggressor. But the white house seems to have skipped that history lesson.
Trump meeting with Putin to discuss Ukraine is reminiscent of Hitler and Stalin carving up Poland. Not analogous you might say? Russia gets to keep eastern Ukraine and reportedly Trump is demanding over 500 billion to pay for the support the US has given the last 2 years. I’m an American and disgusted with my government over this.
