The apartment that I am living right now, doesn't have a central heating system connected to the rest of the apartments in the building. It has one of these Junkers boilers that is individual for my apartment and controls the water heating and the heating of the apartment. Because of this, the heating is not included in the Nebenkosten.
The point is that I noticed that the water pressure in the boiler is really low and I don't know if I have to deal with it alone or if this should be done by the landlord.
When I moved in, the last tenant called a company to do maintenance in the heating system and had to pay for himself.
Do I have to pay for the service in the heating myself, or is this job for the landlord?

  1. Refilling the system should be a matter of just opening a couple of valves, or connecting a pipe up somewhere. A good landlord should know how to do that and can show you, so call them first.

  2. Better check your contract, a yearly service might be one of your duties.
