KOUNTZE, Texas — The Greater East Texas Community Action Program will offer utility bill assistance and home energy services to eligible Hardin County residents during a two-day community event in Kountze this week.
The assistance event will be held Wednesday, February 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, February 20, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the health department conference room located at 1135 Redwood St. in Kountze.
Services available to qualifying residents include assistance with electric, gas, and propane bills, as well as air conditioning repairs and home weatherization services. Program eligibility will be determined based on household income and energy burden.
The event is being coordinated by the Hardin County Health Department in partnership with the Greater East Texas Community Action Program to help local residents manage their energy costs and improve home energy efficiency.
