In this, his interests in Greenland and Canada, Trump reveals he is profoundly aware of climate change and it’s consequences. In fact, he appears in the process of challenging the world order over it. Of course he says its for rare earths etc. etc. But has he ever been entirely believable? The game afoot seems to be hiding the prize that is really sought: Potential refugia for humanity on an earth we have wrecked.
Even if he actually thinks climate change is a hoax, his global interests certainly reflect the CONSEQUENCES of climate change. Expanding trade routes in the arctic and more accessible minerals are examples.
It is worthwhile to keep pointing out the strong intersection of climate change and Trump’s international interests, as it may get his attention enough to deny it and thereby shift the news cycle a bit more to climate change.

So. Just so y’all are aware….
The window has closed. Feedback loops have been reached. The most we can hopefore at this point is a sound and logical preparation for what’s coming. Famine. Drought. Firestorms. Global crop failures. Yadda yadda yadda. We have *maybe* ten years before stuff really starts hitting the fan.
And we have a certified idiot who doesn’t understand the most basic of environmental knowledge trying to take what pitiful progress we have made away.
Actually, not trying, has. He’s done it. There will be zero preparation. With the dismantling of FEMA there won’t even be a halfway humanitarian response to the cataclysms that hit the US let alone anyone else in the western hemisphere.
We are in the worst case scenario. Right now.
Y’all *really* need to start acting like nobody is coming to the rescue because absolutely nobody will be.
It’s going to get super bad. Existentially bad. Lots and lots of people are going to die in the next 10-20 years. Take steps so that you and your loved ones won’t be on that super long list.
[The Jet Stream has been moving north around 2km per year since the 1970s, and this most likely began during the 1940s when we began burning huge amount of coal and oil for cars, trains, ships, and electricity. This means that the southern deserts of Mexico have been expanding northward over the U.S. Same with the Sahara expanding over Europe. So around 170km so far, or about 1.6° latitude. Carbon is accumulating more rapidly so it is not probably closer to 3km/year. Within my children’s lifetime desertification will be 400km or more northward, or about 3.7° latitude.](https://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=4688199&page=1)
So – once he finds this valve is he planning on using like a really long garden hose, or what?
***Cadillac Desert*** goes into detail of how American Agriculture after the Dustbowls of the 1930s became completely reliant on fossil fuel + pumps to suck up the non-renewable aquifers (biggest being the Ogadalla and the Central Valley Aquifers)
Fun fact: When the engineering corp decided to do this in the 40-50s they stated there was enough water in the aquifers to last around 70-100 years and afterwards they would need to find a new source for water
it’s been around 70~ years since that report and now suddenly US is looking at Canada lol
Agriculture is one of the biggest exports of the USA, they will annex Canada long before they give up agriculture profits
He needs it Fer his high flow dookey flushing golden terlets (for ahem documents not his own McDonald’s smelling constant BMs)
