Happy Wednesday, gang! What are your wins this week?
Did you, like our old pal Wallace, win a BAFTA? Managed to snag a bargain on leftover V day desserts? New job offers?
Come have a natter x

Things seem to be going well in general at the moment. I think I’m actually happy for the first time in a long time.
Also I have next week off work, so even better.
Got a big meeting at 9am, had four hours sleep but I’m watching Spidey and his Amazing Friends with the toddler before I get cracking. Puts things in perspective for sure.
My gorgeous wee dog Gloria was declared cancer free this week! 🖤 Best news ever!
I’ve been at my job for a year today and I still can’t believe what a difference it makes to actually have a work life balance and not be stressed out of my mind all the time.
Thanks for asking, sugar tits, I’ll be viewing some houses today and relaxing, half terms are generally just a week of win
I called for a doctor’s appointment today and got one. It’s wild!
3 days in a row where the sun is out. It may be cold out, but apricity is always a welcome feeling on your face.
The stomach bug that my wife and son very lovingly passed onto me appears to be subsiding – I didn’t feel so achy when I woke up and the eggy burps (apologies for the grim detail) have stopped.
With a bit of luck I can enjoy the couple of days I’ve got booked off at the end of this week without hanging around toilets all the time… let’s see!
Was in the Canaries last week and it was wonderful. I never go on holidays specifically for the sun and things but just needed something away. I loved it. I snoozed out in the sun, read a few books, rented a road bike for a couple of days, ate. So good.
Double whammy.
I’m currently over halfway done with my yearly reading goal of 52 books (I’ve read 27). This is the year I shoot for 100.
My usual existential anxiety has also gone bye-bye, which is always nice. I’m feeling nice and calm about this whole mortality thing, and have actually been able to get on with my life.
Haven’t been to the dentist in over a year as when it was time to schedule the next checkup I was due to move and naively thought I’d find an NHS dentist in my new town
Rang last night and it turns out I’m still on their books! It’s like winning the lottery
Manage to get into the gym yesterday, hair done, ready for hols on sat!
Hah! Saw some discounted V day desserts yesterday and nearly bought them.
Then remembered they’re usually mediocre from the orange stupidmarket, so left them.
Completed a job application for a role that would be really amazing for career…2 years and I’d be able to call myself an expert in that field. Fingers crossed!
i wanted to explore the pro version of an app i like but didn’t want to pay the full amount… so i emailed the devs and asked for a discount and got one! plus the roads are empty because of half term, which is absolutely lush
A bit at work I’ve felt like a right moron for not understanding has finally clicked and I feel great about it. Properly lifted me out of an anxious slump.
Mum is being released from hospital today! Not entirely sure if it’s not a bit early but being positive. Her getting well is my wish for my birthday next week. Well and a Colin the caterpillar cake obviously.
I was able to swipe left eventually, after accidentally swiping right and seeing the “Popular” posts on the Reddit app.
Oh, and I saw a single yellow petal on the laburnum bush, which is promising.
