For me it was The Animals of Farthing Wood. I bought the DVDs for my daughter a few years back and I must have repressed some of the more brutal bits!

  1. Animals of Farthing Wood is responsible for many a 90s child trauma lol

  2. Rupert, Rupert the bear, everyone knows his name.

  3. Nah, I’ll age myself by saying I remember when CBBC was “Children’s BBC” and was just a short early-afternoon slot after school.

  4. Bernard’s Watch. That goody two-shoes wasting opportunity after opportunity to have fun and wreak havoc.

  5. The Simpsons on BBC2 at 6pm. Saturday morning of Diggit and SMTV Live. Some of us went to after school clubs and didn’t get to watch dedicated children’s programming during the week.

  6. Art attack

Our kid was watching Art Ninja on BBC and couldn’t fathom that it’s been done before and better. Trying to explain the big picture stuff he did was mind-blowing for a 7YO

Then we sang the theme song whilst he stared at us – good times

  7. Samurai Pizza Cats was my favourite as a child. 1991-1995 i think it aired

  8. Maid Marian and her Merry Men. Could still sing that theme tune now.

  9. Does anyone remember Reboot. I loved that show. I barely remember it now.

  10. Did anyone else get the Farthing Wood magazine from the newsagent? It came with a cardboard landscape of the woods and you got characters with every magazine.
Edit: it was called Farthing Wood Friends

  11. Original Power Rangers, Sharkey and George and The Hurricanes

  12. Inspector Gadget from the Broom cupboard on the BBC. I drew IG and my mum sent it in and it was shown on air. I was in single digits from what I remember.

Also 80 Days Around the World… I think we sent off for the song lyrics or something? Was that a thing or my mum showing off? IDK.

  13. Jungle Run (because I can’t remember anything else).

  14. Knightmare.

Looking back, it was probably really shit being the kid who got to wear the helmet, probably just an empty room with some green screen curtains
