New to Austria, was wondering if Stiegl beer cans have a deposit. They have a sign from a different country, but I don’t see any sign in German

  1. There is not deposit for cans in Austria at the current time. There is a plan to implement a deposit system in the future for cans and plastic bottles though.

  2. I sog da amol wos
Es is a guads Bier wenn des Geld in Österreich bleibt und nit nach Holland verschwindet

  3. No deposit on cansin Austria. There is a seperate waste container for them tho so don’t throw them jnto the generall “Restmüll”

  4. As u are new to austria we will forgive you the fauxpas of drinking canned stiegl. Canned u can drink wieselburger, Gambrinus, ottakringer and egger. Stiegl, murauer and Gösser has to be consumed from a bottle or drafted. If u like stiegl i specialy recommend Paracelsus Zwickl.

  5. If recycling is too much work, just send them over to my place. They need to be sealed and packaged, so they won’t leak. Max-Mustermanngasse 1, 1230 Vienna.

    Happy to help.

  6. That’s 50 Lipa or half a Croatian Kuna. In euro about 6 cents… you could save them all up and bring them to Croatia in the summer…

Yes there was a bit of sarcasm in this comment.

  7. this deposit sign is especially for croatia where you pay 50lp (lp = lipa) for a can. so far, no deposits in austria. cheers

  8. Ich kaufe hin und wieder auch gerne Stiegl. Insbesondere wie jetzt wo das Wasser teurer wird und ich eins zum Abwaschen brauch.

  9. You need to deposit the empty can right on the lawn of you favorite park. Don’t waste your energy by walking around with things you don’t care about anymore.

  10. do yourself a favor and do not drink stiegl from a can.

Depending where you live but get propper glass bottled beer, tastes better.

If you come from the us, everything is better than us pissbrew.

  11. Step 1: Buy beer in glass bottles
Step 2: Avoid foreign, or Brauunion beer (Gösser / Zipfer / Puntigammer….)
Step 3: Get some delicious Zwettler or other brands from private owned breweries
    Step 4: ????
    Step 5: Profit

  12. When I went to Austria a couple of years back, I remember that the Stiegl cans had a Swedish deposit sticker on them. Thought that was quite amusing.

  13. Ich dachte als deutscher immer, das deutsche Pfand System sei verrückt. Aber das österreichische ist noch viel bekloppter.
