  1. The day I bought my first car I had to take a ferry back home, the sea was wild and a massive wave came over the edge of the boat into the car compartment. Shits were had.

  2. Have been in that weather far too many times (mostly on a small boat to pull up our fishing nets/crab nets), so I definitely know how it feels like.

  3. Yeah, that’s not horrible weather. That’s mediocre weather.

Edit: actually, the sky is blue – that’s good weather.

  4. Im from a place where ferries are used. And when its slightly windy, they feel like fucking hell. I myself visit my gf every other months with 3 ferries each way. And i need music, movie or food. If i focus on it i get anxiety lmao

    Norwegian water kinda sus

  5. We have an expression in the Norwegian far north – ‘vi veit kor vi bor’ – in dialect, we know where we live.

    Up here, that’s just Friday.

  6. Have to be way worse than that to stop boats from going out on the sea. Now winds of 20+ km/s make thst boatride reaøøy uncomfortable

  7. As a young adult I used to cross the Oslo fjord to go to parties from time to time. With enough alcohol to kill a horse and a stormy sea, it’s the closest I got to being a real Viking. Good times.

  8. to where i used to live we had custom ferries with side thrusters as powerfull as the main propellors so the ferry could travel in the worst weather. the hurtigbåt was fun aswell here

  9. They are cancelled when the weather is *really* bad. Those are light boats that don’t take a whole lot of beating.

  10. jeg blir ganske båt syk, jeg husker jeg var på ferga for en stund siden i likens vær, fy faen jeg kaste opp over hele dassen.

syntes syn for de som måtte vaske opp..

  11. We only have plastic boats going between Harstad and Tromsø, so they cancel trips all the time due to bad weather. But the boat between Lysnes and Tromsø is da bomb, so it has to be big iceflakes or hurricane for that boat to be cancelled 🤣

  12. That is not norwegian bad weather.
If you find yourself 1meter above your seat when you hit the waves, then it is slightly windy, hang on.

    😀🤌🏻
