  2. The thing is, you can close that gap to almost nothing by just being fitter. There’s no class reason an upper class person would be physically healthier than a working class person.

  3. Is there any context behind this? Which areas specifically? I know Blackpool was pretty low down on the list last time I looked into this

  4. People in poorer areas live unhealthier lifestyles.

  5. Yeah but immigrants and minorities and “the other” are to blame!!

    Endlessly watching the UK make itself poorer and less healthy because they listen to people like Farage and Reform is maddening

  6. Being poor is terrible. The poorest basically can’t afford to keep their teeth if they have a cavity.

    It’s not all personal choice and I’m sure those in less wealthy areas have longer NHS waiting lists.

  7. Working class people tend to have more physically demanding jobs as well as poorer lifestyle choices. I’m 45 I’ve worked manual jobs my entire life and now my knees are feeling it and I’ve got permanent nerve damage and emphysema. At this rate I’ll be lucky to make retirement never mind a grand old age like my 93 year old nan.

  8. Yup. Time for people who can’t bring up their kids properly, looking after their health and education to stop popping them out like rabbits.

  10. Sounds like wealth is a curse. Imagine knowing you’ve gotta endure being alive for over quarter of a decade than others just because your ancestors were successful

  11. I have to admit I don’t see many of the middle class riding around town on a mobility scooter with a fag hanging out of their mouths.

    Being poor is a lifestyle choice. Simple as.
