Funny that they need to remove panoramic sights before each shot. Seems like recoil system is not perfect.

I love mountain warfare equipment. So many unique and clever weapons. Napoleon praised the captured light Austrian mountain artillery in his army for its ease of transport and usefulness in rough terrain, in both world wars the case was the same. Engineers and designers went to extremes to get as much firepower as possible up on the mountain peaks while still being man-portable.
I also believe Australian troops and US marines really loved to use captured Japanese “knee-mortars” in WW2 because you could bring it along to even the most hellish mountain top in New Guinea and still have some light artillery support for your infantry.
