  1. it’s not just the bedsits and the shedsits… the wotsits are also more expensive nowadays..

  2. 😂, seriously though lived for 10years in a log cabin. They are actually brilliant. Lovely home to live in.

  3. I’d actually prefer to live in a cabin – get that Yellowstone life going.

  4. While I understand the concerns around this, I believe it is a positive step. I have 2 kids both with AuDHD and one of our concerns is our kids might never move out. I want to have the option to build something like this in our garden.

We might never do it but the option should be there.

  5. I was wondering why I’ve been getting all those shedly ads. It all makes sense.

  6. If you’re turning your nose up at these modular homes then you’re a snob with no clue. These external rooms are already fairly expensive, but cheaper than building an extension. They can be plumbed, wired, insulated and absolutely beautiful inside and out. They can function as granny flats, freeing up larger homes for children, as offices, games rooms, or teenager rooms and can be built in just 2-3 days. This is a good idea and my ONLY issue with this announcement is they are now prematurely going to surge the prices of them. Was considering getting one myself in the next year or two but I’ll probably have to save a little longer now.

  7. This’ll just mean that the price of log cabins go through the roof but hopefully it’ll ease the supply problem a bit. Wait until you have the log cabins being split up into multiple log apartments though, that’ll be a nightmare.

  8. We have a small back garden and I would be loathe to concrete it over but the log cabin idea while not an ideal is a good idea and will allow adult kids who cant get a home to at least have a space of their own.

  9. Prefabs, should be also encouraged.

I’d live in a flat, prefab, log cabin a real one mind, house, feck a cave if it was well set out and had the stuff needed in it.

People need places to live, love, rest and die.

    🤷‍♀️

  10. I’m all for modular houses getting the green light but definitely have questions about them.

How would they cope in a bad storm? I think I’d prefer brick and mortar in a severe weather event..

  11. Its the regulation that will be the problem… especially in 10 or 20 years.

  12. Literally anything except building apartments. Looks like supply can’t be introduced without enriching existing property owners. I fucking hate this country.

  13. Hey, most idiots here voted this gobshite in again so don’t go crying now

  14. I’d much prefer to live in the second one than the first shitty little room.

  15. To quote Chris Rock: “y’all a bunch of low expectation-having mutherfuckers”

‘Thank you for these crumbs Michael ‘🙏

  16. It would be a dream to have land or the money to invest in both. Although, it is hardly the ideal solution to the country’s housing problem either.
