  13. So, where’s the smart lawyer who could fiile a class action suit on behalf of those of us who receive SS or SSI? That would do more for us as a class than a mountain of individual lawsuits. Musk needs to keep his greedy hands off what we are entitled to receive. It’s none of his fucking business in the first place, given he isn’t a govt employee or even working under the guidance of one as a contractor.

     How about this, I just found out Elon with Tesla and Space X has been stealing government subsidy payments to fund other operations even using the money to donate to Trump. He literally used your tax payer money to finance a campaign and has no plans to actually support NASA with the missions proposed in 2026. About $22 billion dollars and now he’s financed tax cuts essentially to get even richer. Elon has made $154 billion dollars since Election Day and only invested $277 million to get him elected. His margins on the American people are beyond unfathomable.

  15. Musk warned us during his presser in the oval office that he would occasionally lie and it’s everyone else’s responsibility to eventually correct him. No one seemed to care.

    I had to cut a christian friend from my life after she tried to convince me lying was fine as long as the person being lied to is convinced to join their cult (their soul is saved). Republicans use the exact same logic because they are the same horrible people. They don’t mind lies, as long as the lies ensure continued or increased political power. In their minds, lying is the morally correct action. Manipulating the vulnerable is the morally correct action.

    I find the anecdote about people being 150 years old funny cause his crack team of programmers don’t know that the COBOL code defaults to the year 1875 if a person in the system doesn’t have a recorded birthday. I get that on its face it looks like dead people are collecting social security but do even a second of fact checking. But then again he doesn’t want to fact check things that support his goal.

  24. The NYT broke this news, and it shows what a piss poor job Musk’s team is doing. The NYT reporters said that this $8 billion contract was the first one they dug into, and they quickly found the contract was only $8 million. But Musk’s team just accepted the $8 billion number, which was a mistake on some inter-government report, and ran with it, without investigating further. This is what happens when you have a team of inexperienced programmers trying to do accounting.

  25. Most of the rest of the claimed savings are not real either, the equivalent of claiming I saved $500 off my household budget by not paying my electricity bill.

  26. They’re not saving anything at all! They’re removing it from other programs to pay a portion of millionaire and billionaires taxes! The average American will see no benefit from this. It doesn’t reduce government spending at all. It just creates billionaire welfare.
