BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – With temperatures dipping into the teens across central Alabama, you may see the impacts in your energy bill.
Alabama Power wants to remind people of the several resources available to help with their energy bills.
ProjectSHARE is a partnership through the Salvation Army and helps low-income Alabamians who are age 60 or older and/or disabled. The Alabama Business Charitable Trust helps with payments toward energy bills. Special Needs Assistance Programs aim to help those with special needs. That includes alternate payment dates for people who rely on government checks. Payment arrangements are available for customers who are temporarily unavailable to pay their bill.
Resources available to help customers track usage and payments include:
Home Energy Reports can be sent to customers monthly which breaks down their energy consumption. My Power Usage sends alerts to customers with their daily usage and how much it will cost in their energy bill. Budget Billing levels out customers’ payments. Residential Pricing and Rate Plans allow customers to review plans and rates so they are signed up for the right plan for their budget.
“We understand how vital electricity is. Especially when it comes to these types of temperatures. Keeping your home warm, and staying comfortable. So we wanna make sure we are providing the resources that are needed, through the electricity that we offer first of all, but also through these bill assistance programs that help people keep their lights on,” said Anthony Cook with Alabama Power.
