  1. How incredibly sad and depressing we have such a truthful phrase as this to ponder:

  2. Oh come on, he didn’t even say anything he didn’t say before. He already said that Putin is trying to manipulate Trump, this is saying the exact same thing using different words.

    And nobody publicly said the actual truth yet. There is no “disinformation”. The entire charade of the “negotiations” is set up with the idea to rile up Ukrainians so republicans can point fingers at them. If anything, I’d wager Zelenskyy thought this “disinformation” comment would be the most innocuous and diplomatic comment possible, given the actual truth.

  3. European politicians should learn from Zelenskyy.
    They should stop having this normalcy bias where they talk themselves out of what we are all actually witnessing. Start speaking the truth about Trump and his gangsters. Nothing wrong with returning fire once in a while.

  4. Zelensky is a hero. I don’t know of any other western world leader who would have stayed in his capital with an enemy army 20km away that wanted to kill you.

    Even now Zelensky stands up to trump like no other leader in Europe.

    Ukrainian soldiers have fought for their own freedom in a way that most Europeans or Americans since the 1930s don’t understand

    Fuck trump.

    It’s devastating to watch how the orange thing and the clique behind him mocks the effort and the loses of a nation just wanted to be free. It makes me puke!

  8. There’s a lot to be said about Zelensky, but of course Trump hates him. After all, Zelensky actually is the big strong man and “hero” that Trump wants to be viewed as.

    Him calling Zelensky a “moderately successful comedian” that has weaseled himself to power is such projection it’s almost comical.

  11. We elected him in an election. There have always been questions about him, but we all agree on one thing: he is our leader until we elect a new one. And an election is only possible after we win. And so far, he’s been great on foreign policy all along.

  12. I think Zelenskyy has realised there is no bargaining or working with trump. The moment trump took the whitehouse Ukraine lost its support and Russia gained a new ally. It’s up to Europe now.

  15. Should Ukraine and Europe (if they can all agree) simply ignore what Trump and Putin come up with for a peace plan that would be the biggest win possible. It would destroy Trumps credibility in the USA making him look ineffective and weak bringing him down to planet earth. With Putin he would be wondering where to turn next with new found Europe unity. Big “IF” though. Would be a huge test of resolve on Europes behalf.

  26. I actually see a chance even though its small that Trump has awaken old europe and if united it could become way stronger than it has been for the last 50 years. If ukraine fight against Russland and keep them where they are with european help and without USA it will be noted by the world and there are strong countries searching for a new Partner after USA gets stupid right now. Canada, Japan and maybe even India could be interested. Heck even China is happy for everybody to gain new allys that arent working as strongly with USA as in the past. I think USA is fuking itself without realizing. Even the Rich guys of USA could get burned in this. Microsoft is save. Google, Meta and Tesla I am not to sure. If there is no Trust at all in USA, you can go full China mode and ban FB, Insta, YT, WhatsApp and google. Tesla Car were always questionable. So nobody misses them. USA Stock market is overprized so reallocation of international Investments in cheap european Stocks is not impossible. All in all I am very pessimistic about it all this is just my dreamy optimistic take on it. My realistic one is way darker

  28. The US is temporarily† gone. There is zero sense in Europe not completely rallying round as individual nations to arm and supply to the elimination of Putin at this point. Globally, there are no losers, other than repressive regimes.

  29. Sorry guys, I have no idea what to expect anymore. Trump has gone off the rails and into another dimension.

    But in all honesty, what has Europe been doing these past 3 years? Where is the European military buildup in force and capacity? We’ve always known Trump 2.0 was a risk. European countries should’ve improve weapons manufacturing capacity by now.

  35. What bothers me about this article is the naive notion that somehow there is no world in which Europe and Ukraine exist without US support. That somehow, sooner or later, things will go back to normal.

    It is really time to leave these naive notions behind. Things are bad. But the only way for things to get better is to accept te truth, that any partnerships with US are over and there’s no turning back. Europe, and that includes Ukraine, are alone and can only count on themselves moving forward.

  37. America has been meddling in Ukranian politics for years now and Zelensky knew it. No leader of a country doesnt know what it means for America to actively take an interest in your country and work to develop “democracy”. The leopard ate his face and now hes shocked. He shouldve known if not now then in the next election Conservatives would take office (American politics switches like clockwork with a 90% chance of swinging Democrat or Republican after 2 terms of either or) that this was coming. However he fancies himself a modern day Winston Churchill and it shows.

  40. We (Europe) have to accept the US under Trump can no longer be trusted. He is clearly seeking to weaken Europe, NATO, and Ukraine, so they can all be served up on a platter for Russia.

    We now need to take our defense seriously. No more pussyfooting. We need to present a unified defensive front, we must find a way to better support Ukraine without US help, and we need to make rearmament and defensive security our main focus. We have to prepare to stand on our own two feet.

    No one is coming to save us. The sooner we get that into our heads, the sooner we can begin defending ourselves.

  42. As an American, I am so jealous of the leader Ukrainians have in Zelenskyy. Man of the people, stays in his country with his soldiers despite assassins looking to get him, and he will stand up for what is right even if it likely means losing US support. He leads with integrity and honor- two things American politicians have seemingly forgotten about. I hope Europe rally’s behind him in these coming years, and when all this dust settles we can rekindle our alliances.
