There’s one around Greenland Dock that effectively comes up to you asking for treats, even when I have a very fox-orientated dog who would love nothing more than to lose that fight.
I think urban foxes are domesticating themselves like cats did way back when.
There’s a family of them living in my garden. When I go out there they just look at me and yawn. They’re very cute but I’m trying to teach them it’s my garden now, not theirs.
Ah that one is called Stumpy. For obvious reasons
Why wouldn’t he be chill, he owns the place
London foxes are built different, they don’t give a solitary fuck.
This lad was chilling with me on a tee box on Saturday afternoon.
Are you new here?
When visiting London, I usually stay at hotels along Bath Road, LHR. Walking along Bath Road during free time, I’ve been surprised to see so many foxes from the Ibis Hotel all the way to the White Horse Pub and at all hours of the day/night. They are definitely used to humans.
I love foxes & how they think they rule the area. Every mating season, they make me jump out of bed thinking someone is being murdered outside 😂
Yesterday I saw one trotting about just 2 streets behind Westminster Abbey at 4:30 in the afternoon! Everyone stopped to watch. Didn’t seem to be anything wrong with it, he just wanted to act like he owns the place
This is the one who keeps me company for lunch on my days off!
Had one lay down on its paws like a cat just a meter or two away, some are chill AF
I see foxes this relaxed often. Around 8 years ago I had to stop my car in the road at night because a fox was sitting in the middle (probably soaking up heat? IDK). I got out of the car and had to approach before it got up and moved on.
I used to work night shift at the BBC and we’d see them all the time at White City. Moved to Vancouver,BC and inner city fauna includes coyotes (don’t mess with them), racoons (usually cool), skunks (just run) and the occasional bear (make peace with your god).
this is most foxes i’ve come across.
I saw one walking up Kingsland Road in Dalston in broad daylight. It was just weaving in and out of the shoppers paying no attention to anyone.
When living in London:
A fox used to come to our garden and watch us in the kitchen through the window.
When we lived in a flat, a young fox used to wait outside the block of flats.
Foxes are good climbers: we used to have a fox family spending summer days on the rooftops of the garages outside our flat.
I watched foxes teaching their kids how to hunt( or should I say how to scavenge).
They make these very specific sounds that are quite creepy when you hear them for the first time.
A fox in the nearby park used to sunbathe on the grass. People would simply walk past it won’t care a bit.
I once read that foxes are just cat software on dog hardware and it’s so true
