The thing about a war is it forces people to pick a side. And Donald Trump, it seems to many in Europe, is siding with Vladimir Putin.

Seven days of presidential interventions in the Russia-Ukraine conflict have made real the nightmares of Ukrainians and many of their allies, upending the transatlantic relationship that has underpinned European security since 1945.

Europe’s politicians are beginning to grasp how profoundly their world has changed: They must now deal with an America that is at best skeptical and at worst hostile to the old world they represent.

  2. Commenting from a small country (Singapore). Trump actions have essentially cede Asia to china and eastern Europe to russia. Getting attacked by a larger neighbour is now considered instigating the war.
    Singapore is a country without natural resources to trade. We will eventually be betrayed by trump if we get attacked . Sad day for the world.

The problem with America is an increasingly propagandized media and uneducated populace.  Look at how much reaction a single Israeli hostage gets in the U.S. News and culture.  Meanwhile 20,000 fucking children have been deported to Russian concentration camps.  My country by and large doesn’t know this.  It’s so easy for Trump to lie and get them to stick because our media isn’t really discussing the Ukraine war in any substantive way, it’s always covered through a lens of what our president is doing and how it impacts us, not what’s happening in country during this war.  Americans don’t know what’s really happening, they might not be smart enough to comprehend even if they were told, and the media doesn’t really want to tell them anyway.  The media exists to make money for the wealthy right wingers that own them and dead Ukrainians doesn’t generate clicks so they simply don’t talk about it all that often. 

    That’s largely how we got here.  My country has gotten dumber and more selfish every year that I’ve been alive.  We’re aging about as well as Kanye West is really.

    So, the various French presidents starting w/ Charles de Gaulle understood this very well, way in advance. Now… like now it’s (finally) time to act and disconnect from this President in the best possible way. Even if he threatens to leave Europe, that will take years to happen and where to base all of those assets.

It couldn’t be more obvious that Trump is bought and payed for by Putin and the greatest American traitor in history. So why the fuck aren’t they doing something to stop this, not just in America, but Europe as well. Sitting on your arses is just going to get you overrun.

    The worst case scenario here is US and Russia ally with each other and go on a massive land grab! Whose going to stop them?
