  1. Well, lets hope they put their political pressure to good use in a timely manner.

  2. To all Ukrainians, I am so sorry that our president is an unhinged moron. Americans DO stand with you and support you.

Trumps behavior has tanked his approval ratings, and now a lot of MAGA idiots are second guessing themselves for this.

  3. Trump is testing his political base and will lose it based on Ukraine.

He is so out of touch he doesn’t realize that he ultimately could be impeached over this as his supporters in the legislature abandon him.

  4. Start impeachment of Trump, that is what you can do

  5. I live in Europe, but if I could, I’d vote for you sir! Slava Ukraini!! 💛💙🇺🇦. Ps: F**K trumPutin!!

  6. Need more politicians with spine stand up for Ukraine and against US simping for Russia!

  7. Wow. Just wow. I’m speechless. Even if they don’t manage to do as he say, the words are still strong.

  8. Ah, a sensible politician!

I hope he can get a majority to block Diaper Don.

Oh, and Putler is many things, but not a communist. He is the opposite: an orthodox christian fascist. He comprises everything that the old communist guard hated.

  9. That’s nice to hear from a republican politician. But actions speak louder than words. And i have yet to see the republican representatives hold Trump accountable for selling out to Putin.

Because „whatever it takes“ might mean removing Trump from office. And with their deranged base and Trump trying to usurp dictatorial powers, the opportunity window for that is closing rapidly.

  10. I’m sorry for breaking the mood here but all I see in his speech is the same thing I’ve been reading for 3 years. “We must do what’s right”, “we must be strong” are just words…

  11. Yes! This is what we need. Mike Pence, John Curtis, and now Brian Fitzpatrick have voiced their support for Ukraine. Fitzpatrick’s tweet is particularly encouraging.

“We will use every lever and every vote at our disposal, REGARDLESS OF THE PERSONAL OR POLITICAL CONSEQUENCES.”

He knows he is putting his career on the line and making him a target for any possible future primaries. Possibly even his own safety.

Keep pounding those phones, people. I called Tom Barrett here in Michigan and expressed my expectations that he rebuke Trump’s comments on Ukraine. You do it too. If you are a Republican that understands the threat that Putin presents, your call can be particularly effective.

  12. Trump and his administration are clearly endangering US national security and interests.

  13. Had Trump released this statement he would be a hero. But… he’s just turned out to be the clown we all hope he wouldn’t be.

  14. Good time to find a spine is always now…

    Bravo 👏 👏 👏 🇨🇦

  15. Ukraine could be a red line for SOME GOP members, I hope trump/musk admin see that and work a real deal based on consensus rather than self interests.

  16. His text was making all the correct points and hitting the right note up to where he referred to Putin as a communist.

Putin is ***not*** a communist. Rep. Fitzpatrick may believe that calling him one will push the right buttons amongst his Republican constituents, but the truth is that Putin is an autocrat, and one of the reasons Trump admires him is because their worldviews have much in common. Just as Trump proclaims that he wants to make America great again while what he’s really doing is looking out for himself and his wealthy cronies, so Putin says that he wants to make Russia great again while he and his cronies screw ordinary Russians over.

In any case, it’s all very well for Fitzpatrick to make the right noises about supporting Ukraine and defeating Russia, but we’ll find out just how principled he really is when Trump and his MAGA attack dogs turn their attention on him.

  17. Finally some common sense from that other side of the world. Thank god we see some hope that doesn’t involve some russian puppet orange dude in a suit

  18. Can an american explain me how one person can piss away all US foreign power and nobody seems to stand up against him? As one commentator said in a Norwegian Newspaper: “There is not enough champagne in Moscow to celebrate it all”. Please explain to me how the fuck the US as a whole can allow what is happening now to go on?

  19. As an American Army veteran, I support and back Ukraine 🇺🇦

  20. Slava Ukraini!

I will NEVER give up supporting Ukraine. Our president and his supporters are evil fools

  21. Well said Mr Fitzpatrick, I hope the majority of your country men share your perspective

  22. This is wonderful to read, but I just hope they follow through with it. It’s easy to promise in the heat of the moment, and difficult when you know you’re signing your job security away.

They could start with opening up an  impeachment vote. Keep impeaching down the line until a sane person becomes president. Then the actual adults can work something out.

  23. They already had security guarantees in the 90s from America and they did not show up. No one showed up.

Germany gave nothing but helmets for 4 months. It’s embarrassing.

  24. Thank you Honorable Fitzpatrick

Let’s get on with this work!

  25. Thank fucking god… wish there was more coverage of the protests and elected officials speaking out against Trump.

I may be an optimist by believing in our system of checks and balances… but, I still do.

  26. All of these crazy actions by Trump come down to the one and only word he truly understands- **MONEY**. He expects the entire planet to subsidize his tax cut for wealthy billionaires.

    He’s an idiot.

  27. So, my fucking question is to the republican party. Why the fuck you haven’t nominated more reasonable guys like that one against Trump. Like seriously, this numbfuck Trump will be a political nightmare for you Parties reputation following the century. And you will on all accounts be blamed for his stupidity.

  28. So there is a bipartisan group of congresspeople ready to go up against Trump? Well, where are they? Why are they quiet? It is noble to stand up for Ukraine, but I don’t have any hope left for an effective resistance within the US since they aren’t even standing up for their own country.

  29. At least there is hope that some in government will do the right thing. Trump is not well. His behavior, language, disposition and his confusion when speaking or answering all point to mental illness (I know, duh right?). Congress should be pushing for a psychological exam by a doctor not appointed by him or his staff. He is not well enough to be running the country. Musk knows this and is whispering heavily in his ear to make Trump do what he wants. Hell even Musks kid knows this given what he said to Trump during that press conference.

  30. We need many more of our elected representatives to speak out about the despicable actions of our current regime.

I wish the democrats had control of the house so they could start a legitimate impeachment process rather than the strictly political theater of the previous ones.

  31. Trump has always been pro Russian since before and after the fall of the Soviet government even when Putin came into power he invited trump to Moscow to flatter him with favors…

  32. That sounds good but *is there* an outcome determinative number of legislators? Is it veto proof?

  33. What a man! Never heard of jim, but spot on and USA really need more of these now!
